Its Business Time!

Playing games is an easy and excellent way to spend enjoyable time together. As an added bonus, business game is very rich in learning opportunities. PYP 3 learners got a chance to pretend themselves as real estate tycoon. They enthusiastically formed groups and played monopoly game using the basis number operations. This engagement really helped them to understand the currency denominations and the units used to calculate money.

Mathematics Summative

With the same thought, learners got an opportunity to plan a year end party for their peers. They formed groups and decided the clothes they will wear, food and drinks, decoration etc. They enthusiastically took part in this learning engagement. The purpose was to reflect on their learning of multiplication and division unit wherein they planned the food and drinks they would like to share with their peers, the quantity, estimated amount and the contribution of each child. PYP 3 proved to be thinkers and showcased self-management skills while planning and executing a wonderful party.

Debate - Summative Assessment

My Own Voice

Debate is an excellent engagement for language learning because it engages learners in a variety of cognitive and linguistic ways.  It helps them gather information about topics they might not know a lot about. This strategy provides opportunities for all the learners to participate in discussions to develop listening and speaking skills. PYP 3 learners came up with different issues locally and globally and after discussing various issues they finally concluded to debate on Demonetization.

Learners after reading the book ‘Vote for our zoo’ understood the importance the voting. They enjoyed the guided reading session and reflected their understanding through a role play.

Election Process

The process started with the registration day wherein the interested learners registered themselves for the class captain and vice-captain post.






Next was the campaigning day wherein the learners made posters and tried to convince the audience to select them as a candidate for the post.





Moving further was the speech day; the selected candidates prepared a speech for the citizens of PYP 3 and delivered in front of them. They mentioned the role of the class captain and the things they will do for the betterment of the class.



Now, the learners are waiting for the final day to arrive where they will vote for their class captain and vice-captain.


Online Flowchart

Learners worked in groups to design an online flowchart showing the Hierarchy of the Indian Government system. This was their Assessment for learning for the second LOI "The way Government Works'.

Enthusiastic learners of PYP 3 finally voted for their class captain and vice -captain. The curious learners are now waiting for the results to be announced.
